Cook With Your Kids: Cheeseburger Pie

Recently I was asked by Collective Bias to participate in a Cook With Your Kids campaign with Conagra! Cooking with my kids is something I do everyday so of course I agreed. My kids and I had great plans to prepare a dish for a local family who is going through a difficult time right now. We decided on one of our family favorites – Cheeseburger Pie! We went to Walmart to purchase some Conagra products then went home to get to work.

Here’s what we made:

Cheeseburger Pie

2 Cans Refrigerated Crescent Rolls
Pam Cooking Spray
2 tsp. Parkay
1 1/2 lb of Ground Beef
1 Can Hunt’s Tomato Sauce
1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
1 Cup Shredded Cheese

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees. Spray pan(s) with Pam Cooking Spray. Spread Crescent Roll Crust out over 2 9″ pie pans or 9×13 Casserole Dish. Spoon a tsp of Parkay onto the crust & spread out. Place pans in oven for about 5 minutes.

Brown the Ground Beef with the onion. Add tomato sauce. Stir.

Once the crust is done add the meat mixture. If you’re doing 2 9″ pie pans then just do half on each, otherwise put it all on the crust. Bake for an additional 20 minutes. Remove from oven and add cheese.

Enjoy!

Note: I was out of Crescent rolls so I had to use biscuits, but it is so much better with the crescent rolls!

The kids and I both were so disappointed that we didn’t get to deliver the meal due to the bad weather. Hopefully it’ll get better quickly so we can take it tomorrow!
I was compensated for this Whrrl and post by Collective Bias, but all opinions, experiences, & pictures are mine.
